This will be the first Fed Cup meeting between Czech Republic and Serbia as independent nations. However, they have met three times when playing under the flags of Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, with the Czechs winning on all three occasions.
Czech Republic are the defending Fed Cup champions having lifted the trophy in 2011 - their sixth title overall - for the first time in over 20 years. The Czechs reached this season’s Final with a pair of 4-1 wins, defeating Germany in Stuttgart and then Italy in Ostrava.
Serbia are making their debut in a Fed Cup Final after away victories over Belgium in Charleroi and Russia in Moscow, both by narrow 3-2 scorelines. Before this year, the Serbs had never previously won a tie in the World Group.
