World Group 1st Round

The deadline for official team nominations is 10 days before the tie begins.

Tie preview

The meeting between these two nations in the 2015 World Group first round will be the first in Fed Cup history.

The two nations had to come through the 2014 World Group play-offs and did so in very differing style.

The Russians, who will have to travel to Poland, lost in the first round of the 2014 World Group. They faced Argentina in the play-offs, and easily came through the tie, winning 4-0 to maintain their place in the top group for 2015.

Poland have made a meteoric rise in Fed Cup in recent years. In 2013 they competed in Europe/Africa Zone Group I, in 2014 they competed in World Group II and in 2015 they will contest the World Group thanks to a dramatic play-off victory over Spain, winning the deciding doubles point for a 3-2 victory.
