Tie preview

The Omnisport Appeldoorn will be the scene for this World Group II clash between Netherlands and Slovakia. The two nations had very contrasting seasons in 2014, making this an intriguing clash.

Netherlands, the host nation, had an excellent year in 2014, defying the odds to gain promotion from Europe/Africa Zone Group I. They earned their fifth victory of the year when they defeated Japan in the World Group II play-offs.

Slovakia, on the other hand, lost in the first round of the World Group (losing 3-1 to Germany) and then suffered a second consecutive defeat when they lost 3-1 to Canada in the World Group play-offs, meaning they were relegated to World Group II.

The head-to-head between these nations is also finely poised at 1-1.
