ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN: Indonesia produced an emphatic statement in their victory against Iran to complete a comprehensive victory in Group B and make tomorrow's promotion play-off where they will face Hong Kong who had a rest day on Friday.

Aldila Sutjiadi led the way against Arezou Youlghouni wasting little time in taking 33 minutes to dispatch her unranked opponent 60 60. Lavinia Tananta was not to be outdone by her teamate and rushed through her match in equally impressive style taking just half an hour. Sutjiadi paired with Ayu Fani Damayanti to have the tie completed with a third 60 60 scoreline and a total time of one hour 41 minutes in one of the most one-sided ties ever.

The other ties in the group ended with Malaysia beating Pakistan 3-0 and Philippines edging a tight third rubber decider against Kyrgyzstan 75 75 thanks to Anna Calrice Patrimonio and Marian Caoadocia. Those results mean that Philippines finish second in the group ahead of Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan with Iran finishing bottom and not progressing to a play-off tie tomorrow.

Hong Kong were already confirmed as winners of group A and had the luxury of a day off with the other nations fighting it out for the lesser placings. New Zealand were dominant in victory against Singapore with Abigail Githrie, Emily Fanning and Emma Hayman losing just one game in each of the three rubbers between them to reach second place in the group.

Vietnam and Turkmenistan had a win apiece heading into their tie on Friday but it ended a one-sided affair with Hao Tran Thi Tam and Trang Huynh Phuong Dai setting up victory and taking third place.

With just one place in Asia/Oceania Zone Group I up for grabs for next year's competition it is winner takes all between Hong Kong and Indonesia tomorrow and each side will fancy their chances. New Zealand round out their campaign against Philippines and can look back on what might have been if Marina Erakovic had been healthy playing out for 3rd place in Group II while there will be three other ties to decide the final placings.
