MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Ekaterina Makarova admits that she is a little nervous before going out to play Ayumi Morita on Saturday in what will be only her second singles appearance in Fed Cup by BNP Paribas in Russia's first round tie against Japan.

She will face Ayumi Morita with the two having not met since they were both in the junior ranks a number of years ago. Makarova has highlighted he pace and aggression as the key attributes of her youthful opponent, who can actually boast of greater experience in the competition.

Maria Kirilenko tells of her decision to stop playing doubles and focus on singles while Kimiko Date-Krumm takes a trip down memory lane back to her first days in Fed Cup and famous win over Germany in 1996.
