Patrycja Korczak is the winner of a VIP trip to the 2012 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final in Prague courtesy of the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Looking Good For 50! competition which took place on FedCup.com earlier this month. The prize has been made even more valuable after the news that tickets for the Fed Cup Final sold out in six hours.
Patrycja, 19, is currently studying environmental engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kracow but is originally from Tarnobrzeg, a small town in the south east of Poland. Her favourite tennis player is Agnieszka Radwanska because of “her huge talent and the way she plays” and she has decided to bring her younger brother Krzysztof, who is also a big tennis fan, as her guest.
With no Poland in the Fed Cup Final Patrycja has decided she will be supporting Serbia: “It was tough choice to make because I admire Petra (Kvitova) and the other Czech players but I have been a fan of Ana (Ivanovic) for much longer. The final is being played in Prague and they (Czech Republic) will get a lot of support from the home fans and someone has to cheer for Serbia too!”
Entrants were required to answer a question relating to different decades of Fed Cup. There were six questions in total, giving people six chances to take part. A winner was randomly selected every day and at the end of the week the six daily winners were put into a hat and one lucky overall winner was drawn to receive the grand prize.
The other five winners, who each receive a BNP Paribas goodie bag, are Fernando Bado (Argentina), Neil Glover (Great Britain), Wayne Lalicon (USA), Hana Sykorova (Czech Republic) and Oliver Hellriegel (Germany).
The Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final between Czech Republic and Serbia is taking place at the O2 Arena in Prague on 3-4 November. The Czechs are the defending Fed Cup champions after winning their sixth title in 2011, while the Serbs are bidding to lift the trophy for the first time.
