Today was a very long day. We went early to the club and played singles but then the rain came. It’s incredble how much it rains here – I think it has rained every day except one since we arrived in Medellin.
When the rain comes, the girls head to the players’ lounge to speak to loved ones on Skype, while others play Candy Crush on the iPad.
In the end the rain never stopped falling on Friday so they suspended play completely, which means the doubles will be played on Saturday to decide who we play against in the relegation play-off. We returned to the hotel and my friend from Brazil, Laura, invited me to her room, where she showed me she had brought her guitar with her so after chatting for a while I played a few songs and it was really good fun.
After that me and the girls from my team went to the spa at the hotel, where we had a jacuzzi to relax us and then we went for dinner at an Italian restaurant near the hotel, which was very chic and a good place to spend some time together.
That’s it from me today. Hopefully, I’ll have good news to end the week with and we won’t be relegated from Americas Zone Group I as I have really enjoyed playing at this level and testing myself against these great players.
Until next time.
