MARBELLA, SPAIN: Despite losing the opening rubber in Marbella, Spanish captain Arantxa Sanchez Vicario is buoyed by the success of Silvia Soler-Espinosa, who defeated world No. 20 Daniela Hantuchova for her first ever win over a Top 20 player and to level the tie against Slovak Republic at 1-1.
On Sunday, Soler-Espinosa will tackle the highest-ranked player this weekend, No. 17 Dominika Cibulkova, who is expecting a much more aggressive match against the Spaniard after sweeping past Lourdes Dominguez-Lino 63 60 in the opening rubber on Saturday.
Sanchez Vicario imparts her words of wisdom for Lourdes ahead of her match with Hantuchova in the second of the reverse singles, and is in agreement with Soler-Espinosa that the world No. 104 will come out a different player on Sunday.
