Adam Bates wraps-up the action on day one of the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinals, with Czech Republic taking a commanding 2-0 lead over Italy in Ostrava and Russia-Serbia locked at 1-1 in Moscow. The World Group and World Group II play-offs also got under way on Saturday.
