Podcast: Unpredictability adds to excitement

Audio interview

Fed Cup by BNP Paribas is an unpredictable competition. Who would have thought the reigning champions would cruise past an Australian side that contained 2011 US Open champion Sam Stosur?

Nobody would have predicted that Dominika Cibulkova would have been unable to finish her match when serving for it at 5-4 in the second set nor would anyone have thought Japan and an under-strength USA team could have come so close to causing upsets in the first round.

As for World Group II, Switzerland made a mockery of their status as outsiders against Belgium and Argentina looked far better than their rankings would have suggested - especially leading 2-0 on day one.

Chris Bowers takes a look through all of this weekend's action in the final edition of February's Straight Talking.
