Czech Republic lifted their first Fed Cup title as an independent nation and a first win since 1988 – when they competed as Czechoslovakia.
The Final went down to the wire for the first time in five years and proved to be one of the most exciting in recent times. Eventually, Lucie Hradecka and Kveta Peschke sealed the winning point with a 64 62 victory against Maria Kirilenko and Elena Vesnina and secured the title.
