MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Serbia recorded a historic 3-2 victory over Russia in the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinals at the Sports Palace "Megasport". The Serbs will now travel to Czech Republic to face the defending champions on 3-4 November as they make their first ever appearance in the Final.
With the score level at 1-1 going into day two, Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic both claimed singles wins to put the visitors into an insurmountable 3-1 lead. The result sees Serbia rise to their highest ever Fed Cup ranking of No. 4, although it wasn't enough for them to jump above Russia, who remain at No. 3.
