Next tie 6-7 Feb 2016
Australia will travel to Bratislava, Slovakia for the World Group II first round. The two nations have met once previously, back in 1995 when Australia won a deciding doubles rubber in Perth.
Last tie 18-19 April 2015
Australia fell to a surprise loss against the indefatigable Netherlands at the Maaspoort Sports and Events centre in 's-Hertogenbosch in April. Hurt by the last-minute withdrawal of No. 1 Samantha Stosur, Australia went into the second day with the score level at 1-1, but wins for Kiki Bertens and Arantxa Rus meant the Dutch won a seventh straight Fed Cup tie to earn promotion to the World Group.
Australia are third on the all-time champions list, having won the title seven times in 1964, 1965, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1973 and 1974. Australia are one of only four nations to have competed in every Fed Cup.
In 1968, Aussie duo Margaret Court and Kerry Melville went into the record books for playing the most number of games in a doubles rubber (51), beating Winnie Shaw and Virginia Wade 97 36 1412.
