Next tie 12-13 November 2016
Czech Republic bids for its third consecutive Fed Cup title - and fifth in six years - in November. This time the team travel to France, having hosted the previous two finals in Prague.
Last tie 16-17 April 2016
Czech Republic overcame a strong Swiss challenge in Lucerne to progress to the final. Karolina Pliskova and Barbora Strycova both defeated Timea Bacsinszky, but both lost to Viktorija Golubic, meaning the tie would be settled in the doubles rubber. Pliskova teamed up with Lucie Hradecka to defeat Golubic and Martina Hingis to keep the Czechs' title defence on course.
The Czechs have been crowned champions on nine occasions - in 1975, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1988, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015 - making them the second most successful Fed Cup nation behind USA. The first five of these wins came under the flag of Czechoslovakia, which they played as until 1992. The Czechs then played as Czech & Slovak Republics in 1993 and Czech Republic since 1994.
