France are to host two-time defending champions Czech Republic in the Fed Cup final, having reached this stage for the first time since 2005.
Last tie 16-17 April 2016
France ended Netherlands' fairytale, with Paul Haarhuis's team seeming likely to produce another upset when Kiki Bertens defeated both Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in singles. The tie came down to the doubles rubber, in which Garcia and Mladenovic recovered from a set down to take the tie and put France in the final for the first time in over a decade.
France were crowned champions in both 1997 and 2003. They also reached the Final in 2004, 2005 and 2016 and are one of only four nations to compete in every Fed Cup.
In 1997, France's World Group first round tie against Japan entered the record books on three counts - most number of games in a tie (162) and joint most number of games in a rubber (54) and set (32), when Nathalie Tauziat defeated Naoko Sawamatsu 75 46 1715.
