Next round 2016
Georgia will contest Europe/Africa Zone Group I in 2016 - the first time it has done so two years running since its 2002-2003 campaign.
Last round 4-7 February 2015
Georgia defended its Europe/Africa Zone Group I status for the first time since 2002 by finishing a commendable 6th place in its 2015 Fed Cup campaign in Budapest. The Georgians recovered from a 3-0 defeat to Belarus to score impressive 2-1 wins over Portugal and Bulgaria, before narrowly losing a fiercely contested positional play-off tie against Turkey in the deciding doubles.
Georgia began playing Fed Cup as an independent nation in 1994 and are yet to reach the World Group stages of the competition. Their best performances have been playing in Europe/Africa Zone Group I, which they have done on a number of occasions. Prior to 1994, players from Georgia represented USSR.
