Hungary finished in tied fifth place in Europe/Africa Zone Group.They defeated Portugal and Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0 before losing to Great Britain in the round-robin stage, but returned to winning ways by defeating Netherlands 2-0 edge to finish two positions higher than in 2012.

Hungary have twice been Fed Cup quarterfinalists - in 1963 and 1985.
