Next round 2015
Iraq will once again compete in Asia/Oceania Zone Group II when they return to Fed Cup action.
Last round 4-8 February 2014
Iraq returned to Fed Cup action for the first time since 2000. In their opening tie against Turkmenistan they recorded a first ever point in the competition as Ghada and Halla Alajeely won the doubles rubber in a 2-1 defeat. Ghada Alajeely won the opening singles rubber against Kyrgyzstan to threaten an upset but with losses in the next two rubbers Iraq were condemned to last place in the pool. They finished the week in 11th place overall after falling to a 3-0 defeat against Sri Lanka in the positional play-offs.
Iraq has made just three Fed Cup appearances to date, in 1998, 2000 and 2014 but is yet to win a tie.
