Netherlands will contest the 2016 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group after defeating Australia 4-1 in April's play-offs. The draw for the 2016 event will take place on 3 June in Paris.

The Dutch continued their remarkable Fed Cup record by winning a seventh straight tie in the competition to book their place in the World Group in 2016. Buoyed by the withdrawal of Samantha Stosur at the last minute, Netherlands' won 4-1 overall thanks to two singles victories for Kiki Bertens and one for Arantxa Rus.
Netherlands have twice finished as Fed Cup runners-up - in 1968 and 1997.
