Next tie 19-20 April 2014
Serbia face a trip to Romania to try and maintain their place in World Group II next year. They have met twice before with both ties coming in the best-of-three rubber Zone Group I. Serbia came out on top both times by a 2-1 margin.
Last tie 8-9 February 2014
Serbia lost a fourth consecutive Fed Cup tie that extends back to the 2012 Final as they were brushed aside by Canada in the World Group II first round. Vesna Dolonc emerged on the wrong end of a back-and-forth battle against Aleksandra Wozniak before Eugenie Bouchard took little time in steering the hosts home in Montreal with straight sets victories over Jovana Jaksic and Dolonc. Jaksic did restore some pride alongside Nina Stojanovic in the doubles in the final rubber.
Serbia made their Fed Cup debut in 1995, competing as Yugoslavia between 1995 and 2003, and as Serbia & Montenegro between 2004 and 2006. 2012 was by far Serbia's best in the competition as they went all the way to the final, narrowly losing out to Czech Republic.
