Vietnam enjoyed a good first year in Fed Cup after finishing 5th in Asia/Oceania Group II. The team sandwiched round-robin wins over Turkmenistan and Singapore around defeats to Hong Kong China and New Zealand, before finishing on a high with a 3-0 triumph against Malaysia in the Positional Play-off.
