Twin sisters on course for final showdown

GRENOBLE, FRANCE: Sibling rivalry is likely to be on display as number one seed and former Wimbledon junior champion Kristyna Pliskova and her sister Karolina, seeded two, are making comfortable progress through the draw to remain on course for a showdown in the final.

The pair have met twice before in singles finals on the ITF Pro Circuit. In 2010 they met on grass in the final of a $50,000 tournament in Kurume, which saw Kristyna record her first win on the ITF Pro Circuit over her sister and last year they met here in Grenoble where two close tiebreak wins saw Karolina triumphant.

In total, the twin sisters have faced each other across the net in ITF Pro Circuit play on eight occasions with the current head-to-head record showing Karolina leading the way with five wins to Kristyna's three. Although, Kristyna can also point to their only ITF Junior Circuit meeting which she won back in 2006.

All matches between the two, with the exception of the Kurume final, have finished in straight sets wins.

Should they both continue their progress to the final, who do you think will emerge the victor? Share your thoughts and tournament photos if you've been lucky enough to attend with fellow tennis fans on our official Facebook page or using the hashtag #ITFprocircuit on Twitter.
