In the 2009 World Group play-offs, France needed a win in the deciding doubles rubber to overcome Slovak Republic and retain its record of always competing in the World Group.

France also reached the final in 2004 and 2005 and is one of four nations to compete in every Fed Cup.

France’s 1997 World Group first round tie with Japan saw the most number of games in a tie (162) with the fourth rubber (Nathalie Tauziat d. Naoko Sawamatsu 75 46 1715) being the joint-longest rubber in terms of games played (54) in Fed Cup history.
