Great Britain finished first in its round-robin pool in 2009 Europe/Africa Zone Group I, but lost to Poland in a play-off and remains in Group I for 2010.

Best Fed Cup performance: Runner-up 1967, 1971, 1972, 1981

GB has competed in every Fed Cup competition, one of only four nations, with Australia, Italy and France, to do so.

The doubles rubber in its 1968 semifinal against Australia is the most number of games played in a Fed Cup doubles rubber (Court/Melville d. Shaw/Wade 97 36 1412).
