Next Tie versus Canada: World Group II, 05 February 2011

Next tie
Serbia is hosting Canada in the World Group II first round in February. The two nations have never previously met, although Yugoslavia - who Serbian players formerly represented - defeated Canada in 1980.

Last tie
Serbia was narrowly defeated by Slovak Republic 3-2 in the World Group play-offs in Belgrade. It was the second time in 2010 that Serbia had lost in the deciding fifth rubber, having also fallen to Russia in the World Group first round.

History
Serbia made its Fed Cup debut in 1995, competing as Yugoslavia between 1995 and 2003, and as Serbia & Montenegro between 2004 and 2006.
